Nov 16 2008 - PRETORIA. Some 20,000 Afrikaners - double last year's crowd -- gathered again with their families at the amphitheatre of the Voortrekker Monument in Pretoria yesterday to celebrate their city's 153rd anniversary - and to also show their abhorrance and rejection of the ANC-regime's ongoing ethnic-cleansing campaign of the entire South African map, steadily removing all traces of the Afrikaner's entire cultural heritage countrywide - including changing the name of Pretoria, the city of their Boer forefathers.

It must be noted here for the record that under the UN definition of genocide, such ethnic-cleansing of architectural sites closely linked to one ethnic group forms part of the genocidal process.  http://archinect.com/news/article.php?id=32810_0_24_0_C

PretoriaNov152008SteveHofmeyerAfrikanersProtestAgainstEthnicCleansingFourteen top Afrikaner artists drew leading Afrikaners with their families to the day-long, peaceful celebration, including Steve Hofmeyr, (left) Bok van Blerk, Dozi and Liani Mey. The cultural event was organised by the civil-rights organisation AfriForum.

Kallie Kriel of AfriForum said the fact that 20,000 people showed up at the Voortrekker monument this year, shows how strongly Afrikaners feel about the ethnic-cleansing of their cities - founded by their Voortrekker forefathers. Other Afrikaner cities such as Potchefstroom also are facing the scythe of this ethnic-cleansing campaign.

"We Afrikaners are deeply unhappy with these attempts to change these names which have such a strong cultural-historical value for our minority." said Kriel, pointing out that the minister of Art and Culture Dr Pallo Jordan should take heed of these strong feelings of the Afrikaner people and stop the ruling party's ethnic-cleansing the entire cultural heritage of the Afrikaner minority. This is the second Afrikaans music festival at the Voortrekker Monument to celebrate the city of Pretoria's cultural links with the Afrikaners and their Boer-forebears who built the city when they were still an independent nation with their own Boer Republics.  Report can be found in Afrikaans on http://www.afriforum.co.za/?p=1879

AFRIKANERS BARRED FROM POLITICAL PROCESS:

Afrikaners are constantly protesting against this ongoing, countrywide ethnic-cleansing campaign whenever they can - but their small-minority voice often does not get heard or is shouted down deliberately: All their attempts to lodge peaceful petitions face immediate, highly aggressive reactions from local ANC-members who organise shouting-galleries to stop the Afrikaners from lodging formal petitions objecting to the name changes. That's the modus operandus: Afrikaners get shouted down, and even arrested by municipal cops whenever they try to speak at public meetings dealing with the name changes.

Gestapo tactics at Pretoria renaming meeting:

At an October 23 2008 public 'information meeting' about Pretoria's name-change, several esteemed Afrikaner leaders such Adv. Jan van Zyl of the Afrikaner Scouts Movement and Kallie Kriel of Afriforum were beaten up and four of the Afrikaners, including Van Zyl, were arrested after Kriel tried to point out to the metrocops that a young black man had thrown a chair at the Afrikaner group.

VIEW TWO VIDEOS STARTING FROM LEFT:

The chairman of this Pretoria 'public information meeting'  refused to even acknowledge the Afrikaner' ratepayers'  presence and ignored their request to speak about the proposed subject: renaming the city of Pretoria to "Tswane". The blacks in the audience immediately formed aggressive screaming groups, several young blacks can be seen beating up an Afrikaner man who was trying to lodge a written petition, a young black man threw a chair at another Afrikaner petitioner -- and then six Afrikaners were arrested.  The desired result was obtained: The meeting broke up without anyone being able to raise any objections -- which of course was the point of this violence-driven exercise. Pretoria News Front Page report Oct 23 2008 Name Change Meeting FightsThe local English-language news media (Pretoria News) claimed that the entire ruckus had been started by the Afrikaners. Werner Smook of the Pretoria Afrikaner Scouts Movement, ("Verkenners") who was also present, said it was however very clear that none of the whites present at the meeting would ever have been allowed to speak  at that meeting; that they were being deliberately shouted down and blocked in a well-organised campaign designed to stop the Afrikaners from raising any objections. "They have already decided, and we were not allowed to object.'

Oct 22 2008 PRETORIA HIGH COURT --  StandertonGreatTrekMemorialDamage_ProtestPretoriaHighCourtOct222008PROTEST AGAINST STANDERTON GREAT TREK MEMORIAL DESTRUCTION:

AfriForum members also held a peaceful protest at the Pretoria Magistrate's court against the destruction by the local ANC-council of the Standerton Great Trek Memorial. Such public protests by Afrikaners are invariably peaceful and are frequently ignored by the English-language news media. Click on picture to enlarge it.
