Mr Stone told the ABC says the hostages were held with guns against their heads and knives against their throats. He says the hostages were saved by neighbours, who shot one of the gunmen and wounded the two others during a shootout. "They came through with their firearms and burst into the house and then all hell broke loose," Mr Stone said."It was like the OK Corral all over again." Orange Farm policeman’s ‘stolen’ gun used in mysterious massacre of 5 members of Khoza clan in Rustenburg

Police have confirmed that a legal police gun was used to murder the much-loved Rustenburg businesswoman Miriam Khoza and four of her clan-members this week in Lethabong township. The Mozambique-born matriarch owned three of the most important shops in the   township: the butchery, the liquor store and the supermarket and her entire family was murdered in the Christmas-Day massacre: her sons Karabo and Tsaona, brother-in-law Daniel Karfhia, 46, and another clan member, Nadir Khoza.

Police has thrown a cordon of mystery over this massacre of these five unarmed people in Rustenburg – and it thus also has drawn little attention in the international news media – which today focusses all its hysteria on the equally horrid massacre of five people in a Finnish shopping mall.

Khoza clan mass murder Sowetan front page story SAPS superintendent Lesego Metsi said two men arrested in Sebokeng for the murder confessed that they stole the firearm from the home of a police officer in Orange Farm The same gun also was used to kill Karfhia in the same massacre. The police said they are concerned about the ‘different stories’ told by the suspects and the police officer. The cop claimed in his statement that the gun was taken away from him during a robbery; whereas the suspects told the police they had stolen it during a breakin into the policeman’s house. Superintendent Metsi said however that they were not investigating the circumstances surrounding the disappearance of the gun – this was being handled seperately by the Vaal Triangle police under the Gun Control Law. “We only investigate the murders, said Metsi. This massacre is a deepening mystery: the police threw up a cordon around the court-room when the accused made their appearance, and would not even let the Khoza relatives inside to attend the hearings; and the magistrate decided to hold the entire case behind closed doors because one of the 5 arrested men was 17 years old. Usually under such circumstances, the trial for the youth would be held seperately – however the entire remand hearing was held in-camera. The self-confessed murderers remain in custody until their bail application in January.  http://www.nuus24.com/Content/Suid-Afrika/Nuus/1479/1d05d535a4b442ac952f488d36d6b8ef/31-12-2009-02-46/Polisieman_se_vuurwapen_in_moord_gebruik
