Zonnebloem Massacre hitmen jailed for many years

Six hitmen in Feb 12 2006 bloodbath at Zonnebloem creche jailed a combined 515 years
19 Mar 2010 CAPE TOWN. It took the Western Cape High Court Judge Richard Dlodlo three hours to sentence the six Cape Flats hitmen who had been responsible for the infamous Zonnebloem Bloodbath to a total of 515 years in jail after their two-year trial, writes SAPS Supt Norman Joseph.

Dlodlo first outlined the criminal records of the six notorious gangsters – reading into the record dozens of excerpts of previous court cases similar to this one before a large public gallery. The six accused - four are brothers - are widely known as hitmen for a local Cape Flats gang and druglord, showed no emotion as Judge Dlodlo sentenced them to lengthy jail terms on Thursday, 18 March 2010.
- They were convicted of abducting Stanley Brown, Christopher "Crebo" van der Merwe, Kurt Abrahams and Yassiem Adams from a Woodstock house, beating them up and shooting them in the heads execution-style in front of a creche in the upper-Cape Town suburb of Zonnebloem. The victims’ vehicle was found burnt out in a secluded Woodstock area.
The "Zonnebloem Bloodbath" at the Zonnebloem Cape Malay community’s Islamic School attracted huge media attention because the blood-soaked victims were found dumped in front of the entrance gates to to the creche. The children and teachers arriving at the creche in the morning were met by the horrifying crime scene with blood-spattered bodies.
Kurt Abrahams and Yassiem Adams died on the scene, while Stanley Brown and Christopher van der Merwe survived and will bear the scars for life. The gruesome attack on the four men had allegedly been ordered by a druglord, who has however later acquitted by the court.
- The State was forced to withdraw kidnapping, murder and attempted murder against alleged “Wonder Kids” gang leader Christopher "Ougat" Patterson - just days after his attorney wrote to the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) saying there was no evidence to incriminate his client. The evidence was that on February 12, 2006, Van der Merwe and Adams were out with friends Stanley Brown and Kurt Abrahams and drove to Gympie Street, Woodstock, in Brown's Volkswagen Golf. The state claims the house they went to was occupied by Wonder Kids gang members. There, Van der Merwe and Adams were held at gunpoint, bound and instructed to lie face-down on the kitchen floor. Abrahams and Brown were held at gunpoint in another part of the house and their hands and feet were bound. They were put into the Golf and taken to a creche in Zonnebloem, where they were shot. Van der Merwe, who was shot in the eye, and Brown, who was wounded in the back, survived.

The remaining accused were convicted on 12 charges: ie four charges of abduction, two of murder, two attempted murders, two robberies with aggravating circumstances and possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition.
- Wayne Jones was sentenced to a total of 120 years, Colin Jones to 50 years, Hilton Jones received 50 years, Reagan Muller got 50 years, Keith Jones to 120 years and Ebrahiem "Bruimpie" Hendricks received 125 years.
State Advocates Helena Booysen and Evadne Kortje said they had been working with the investigators, Captains Stephanus Jooste and Jonathan Morris (Hawks), for two years and that the detectives had shown "great professionalism and knowledge". Banned ‘Shoot Boer’ANC-genocide song followed by wave of brutal attacks
Scores of Afrikaans-speakers brutally attacked after Malema’s public calls to ‘Shoot the Boer'
March 26 2010 - Singing the genocidal ANC-hatespeech song "shoot the Boer" (‘dubulu ibhunu’) is now illegal, the South Gauteng High Court has ruled after an urgent interdict brought by an Afrikaner businessman. The South Gauteng High Court has ruled that use of the words is unconstitutional and unlawful. The ANC reportedly is ‘shocked’ at banning of their ‘hugely popular struggle-era’; hate-speech song.
The ground-breaking ruling follows an urgent interdict by Delmas businessman Willem Harmse preventing his colleague Mahomed Vawda from using banners with the words and singing the song during a planned march against the high rate of crime in Mpumalanga and Gauteng on April 9. Vawda unsuccessfully argued that thedr words figuratively meant "kill apartheid" and wanted them chanted at the march. Harmse however argued the words “perpetuated hate speech and incited hatred”. The Court agreed with Harmse. Since the high-level ruling party-official Malema started spouting his hatespeech from dozens of public platforms, a great many Afrikaans-speaking whites have been murdered and brutally assaulted in racist hate-crimes. The ANC-hatespeech is plunging the country into an orgy of violence targetting whites – and children are even taught in games how to execute people, as shown in this picture of a playing group of children at the Durban marina being instructured in the ‘execution game’. Johannesburg - One of Julius Malema's supporters is even placing "updates" of farm murders on the ANC Youth League leader's Facebook page. the FF+ warned that the ANC youth leader's controversial song "Shoot the boers, they are rapists" could incite farm murders. Malema's Facebook page has over 12,000 fans. One of them, Clearence Letlonkane, has been posting information about farmers being murdered, as reported on news websites, every few hours over the past few days.
- One of his updates reads: "3 000 farmers dead since '94... we lost more people than that... we r far from being even... So kill da boer, kill da farmer." Letlonkane also writes that "eight people have been murdered on farms in Limpopo since the beginning of February".When questioned about this, he commented as follows: "I haven't killed anyone, but I am not sympathetic to those who have been murdered... sue me for not shedding a tear."
- Ernst Roets, national chair of AfriForum Youth, has indicated that they will use the Facebook posts as evidence during the hate speech case against Malema which they've submitted to the equality court.Anton Alberts, the FF+'s parliamentary spokesperson for economics, said in a statement on Monday that "one doesn't have to give the matter much thought to realise that Malema's utterances are creating an atmosphere which is beneficial to those who want to murder"."The FF+ will do its part to stop this scourge in the political and legal arenas. The farming community will have to start protesting publically against the murders and the lack of a commando system.

Two hours later Walter Lakie (60) was also attacked on the farm Makaya just a few kilometres away from the Maguire’s farm. Very little was actually ‘robbed’ besides cellphones. An unnamed Afrikaans couple also was attacked Thursday-morning near The Rest rural area of Nelspruit. Strydom told Beeld that he had ‘seen far too much of this senseless violence over the past two weeks’.

2010-03-27 Vicus Bürger reports in Volksblad that the body of 49-year-old Anetta Pelser of Olive Hill, Bloemfontein was found at the Estoire smallholdings. Police captain Chaka Marope said the woman was found by a man who drove over a body which was in the middle of the Brandfort Road. “He couldn’t avoid the person and hit it,’ said Marope. The motorist of the bakkie immediately stopped and alerted police. Police say they are ‘investigating a charge of culpible homicide’ – even though the police forensic examination still has to determine the way in which Mrs Pelser may have been killed. March 15 2010 Four black men jave shot dead the wife of a farmer in Colenso on Sunday night.The farmer, 70, was shot twice, but he survived and was hospitalised, said Superintendent Jay Naicker."The farmer was busy milking cows with his employees when they were approached by four armed men who demanded cash. The wife, 64, was shot dead and he was shot twice but he survived," he said. Naicker said the attackers did not take anything and that the members of the Organised Crime Unit were investigating the matter. The Democratic Alliance described the incident as an act of intimidation."The senseless murder of an elderly woman and the attack on her husband is yet another tragedy for our country and the DA extends its deepest condolences to the family," said Tom Stokes, DA member of the KwaZulu-Natal legislature.This is the third attack on farmers in one weekend.On Saturday night, a 46-year-old farmer was shot through his bedroom window while sleeping on his Rietfontein farm near Potchefstroom, North West police said.The man was taken to Potchefstroom Provincial Hospital in a critical condition while police search for those involved.On Friday, 65-year-old Jan Wheeler was murdered outside Marble Hall in Limpopo. Journalist Andre Potgieter’s farm-murderers sentenced to effectively 40 years prison
2010-03-27 Mike van Rooyen Volksblad – A second man who was involved in the armed farm-attack murder against the writer/journalist André Potgieter (72) on his Waterbron-smallholding near Bloemfontein on June 13 2009, was sentenced to fifty years in prison by the Free State High Court. Isak Lebohang Molefe (24) was described as the ‘brain’behind the attack, said judge Mr M H Rampai.
His comrade-in-murder Joseph Moemi Lechuti (38), was earlier sentenced to 35 years by judge A Kruger for the 13 June 2009 farm-murder.
Rampai said the armed robberies of defenceless, eldery residents in their homes ‘was increasing at an alarming rate’, citing recent reports from Volksblad newspaper.
“My four-year-old granddaughter was shocked about what she saw about the attack on an elderly resident and wanted to know why it happened,’ said the judge. “The child could not explain why anyone would want to cause so much pain to another person”. He pointed out that the late Mr Potgieter had been “someone’s father and loving husband; a healthy, active man who looked after himself, made his own food, looked after his own clothing and garden. He was a writer, journalist, musician, photographer and community worker whose life was ended too early. He would probably still be alive today if it hadn’t been for your senseless deed.’ He denied applications for leave to appeal against the findings. I love you,’ said the dying 49-year-old Jan Van As to his little boy while trying desperately to protect his family from the armed attackers.He told his life partner Elsie Smit, 37, pictured after the horrific attack, that he loved her. “Then I heard his last gurgling and he died,’ she told Ms Keppler.The armed attackers had climbed through the burglar bars after bending them open and arrived accosted the Afrikaner, demanding that he open his registered gun-safe. Mr Van As apparently recognised of his his attackers -- shouting at them, said Ms Smit, as she heard him shouting: ; “Aren’t you the one who was on my property yesterday. Then two shots were fired…”She heard that her life-partner then started fighting with the three gunmen while she and her little boy hid in the bedroom. “Another two shots were fired. Then it was quiet for a bit, and we heard another shot,’ she said. When the attackers fled, she and her little boy kneeled next to the dying Van As while he was bleeding to death next to the couch. He greeted them for the last time. Ms Smit then screamed for help through the window – and a neighbour and a police woman who just happened to drive past at that moment, rushed in to help. “I pushed my fingers in the gunshot wounds trying to stop the bleeding. I screamed at him: ‘the first time you were hijacked and shot you survived it and you can do it again.’ she said. “It didn’t help.’ . Robindale, Randburg youth survives second attack within seven hours by panga-wielding thugs…
March 24 2010 – ROBINDALE –Eblockwatch report from a member: “My family home was broken into twice in the past seven hours. The second time happened @ o2h45 when 2 assailants were inside my house and tried to murder me with a panga. Another family also reported to E-blockwatch that only a month after the SAPS had sent around inspectors to ‘check his registered gun-safe’ he and his family were attacked by a gang which arrived, asking for the gun-safe. The man asked advice on where he could lodge charges so that the SAPS could investigate this mysterious coincidence.

Hester Thomas (79) 'grateful I was not raped, just beaten black and blue’ – March 24 2010- Bloemfontein
"I am just grateful he didn’t rape me,’ said 79-year-old Afrikaner resident of Bloemfontein Mrs Hester Thomas after her attacker stabbed her above the eye, beat her purple and blue, choked her, jumped on her chest and kicked her during a so-called ‘house robbery’ in which very little of any value was actually ‘robbed’. Volksblad journalist Vicüs Bürger reports that this is the third attack on elderly Afrikaners in Bloemfontein within a week. She was admitted to Pelonomi Hospital. The widowed Mrs Thomas of Lilac Avenue in Gardenia Park, Bloemfontein contacted the animal welfare society to remove some feral cats from her garden. She’s lived alone for the past two years – and was waiting on her front stoep for the arrival of the animal-wardens when a ‘tall black man aged between 24 and 30 sauntered over and asked her for a job. She said she couldn’t help him; he sauntered away but returned a bit later demanding that she give him money – and then stabbed her wth a knife above her left eye – then cut off her belt and put it around her neck, choking her with it. “He beat me and dragged me around the outside of the house,’ she said. He also jumped on her chest. “He was very strong’. He opened the front door with the housekey she always has around her neck and dragged her inside. However the old lady tried to put up a defence, “I gave him all kinds of hell,’ she said: her toes are bruised because she kicked him; and she also grabbed ornaments, beating him with them. Her attacker tied her up and locked her up in the bathroom. It took her several hours to free herself from her bond – and she managed to unlock the bathroom door with a spare key hidden inside the room, she said. She rushed to her neighbours who alerted the SAPS. And while the attacker could have emptied the house of all valuables he apparently only stole some meat, cheese and some clothing – those items are missing. Her stepson Denis, a Bloemfontein businessman, said it was ‘unacceptable what happened to my stepmom. She ‘s a good woman.’ He also said that she was a strong-willed person who will be able to deal with the traumatic experience. Police captain Chaka Marope confirmed the ‘house robbery’. No-one was arrested. Two days earlier, the Van Vuuren family was attacked by a six-member gang with knives and spades. One of the victims, Mrs Francina van Vuuren (77) sustained brain-damage during the brutal assaults and is in coma in Pelonomi-Hospital. PRETORIA. Urgent calls for donations in the form of food and informal housing are regularly issued via Facebook and internet sites from South Africa by the few private charities who help in the survival of the country’s many hundreds of thousands of poor, unemployable and often homeless Afrikaner/Boer families.
Africa’s most visible and vulnerable minority group is growing increasing destitute and they are fighting for their very survival: South Africa’s ruling-party officials even had to be stopped with a High Court law suit on March 26 2010 from chanting the ANC-genocide chant “Kill the Boer”.

Despite pleas to SA president Jacob Zuma the ANC-regime’s food-aid agencies in many provinces often still persist in denying aid and public housing to most of these Afrikaner/Boer poor. Thus far their charities rely on private donations to keep the growing number of desperately hungry families fed and housed. They are also increasingly endangered because of the out-of-control hate-speech by high-level government officials with their illegal calls to ‘Kill the Boer’, and “Shoot the Boers they are all rapists’.
For instance, as can be seen on the picture, the Helpende Hand charity of Solidarity Trade Union not only feeds the Afrikaner/Boer poor, but also helps provide backyard shanties to house these families and help with clothing and school supplies so that the children can still go to school. Solidarity trade union, which maintains this charity, also has a job-training and employment agency to try and help these often well-skilled Afrikaners find a job – even though most of these so-called ‘whites’, even with top skills and job experience, are being barred from the entire labour market due to the government’s black-economic-empowerment laws. Their plight is regularly brought to the attention of the international community by several articles, published by Reuters’ news agency.
The private charities have been issuing warnings that the great many Afrikaner squatter communities now are in an increasingly desperate situation, with the squatter camps’ residents physical strength reportedly waning due to the chronic under-feeding they have to endure. Many squatter-camp residents also endure frequent hate-attacks from armed black youth gangs – despite the fact that these ‘whites’ have nothing left to steal.

Many poor ‘whites’ turned down by government feeding centres:
Depending on the officials the government food-aid centres for the poor, most Afrikaner/Boer families also still find themselves being turned away from these feeding stations which have been set up by the ANC-provincial governments since 2002: despite urgent pleas to president Jacob Zuma in 2008 by Solidarity, such so-called ‘whites’, referred to by the regime as ‘previously advantaged population members, ‘ are being denied this food-aid by many officials, even if they are in a desperate situation.
There are just a few local private charities which actually help this increasingly desperate minority --- the main one being Solidarity Trade Union’s Helpende Hand organisation who now feeds some 800,000 desperate poor, homeless Afrikaners and helps erect squatter shelters for them; there’s also the Freedom Front party’s charity; the Reddingsdaadbond of the Boer Freedom movement; and a great many smaller religious charities and missions where poor Afrikaners have been given refuge across the country.
