Boer child 3, massacred with parents on FS farm

Dec 1 2010 – LINDLEY, Free State. The executed body of 3-year-old Willemien Potgieter was found on Thursday together with the bodies of her murdered parents Attie, 40 and Wilma, 36 on the farm Tweefontein, between Lindley and Steynsrus. The black male killers left behind a message in Sotho: “We killed them. We will be back.’ Mr Potgieter, a scion of a well-respected Boer-Voortrekker family, did not own the farm: he was supervising it.

The Boer wife and child were shot to death execution-style: the farmer was beaten to death. A farm worker discovered the massacre on Thursday said SAPS sergeant Majang Mosupa. East-Free State police said the Afrikaans family very likely was murdered by a large group of black males a earlier. The murderers took the little girl alone to an outside room and shot her dead – execution style with a shot to the back of her little head. Beeld newspaper apologetically explained – without providing any proof -- that this ‘was probably done so that the killers would not be identified by the little girl later.’ They then took her little body and dumped it on top of her murdered mother in the main bedroom of the homestead.
After slaughtering the little girl – affectionately called ‘Willemientjie” by her family, the killers hacked the father to death, probably with a panga, outside the homestead near the backdoor.
The Potgieter couple would have celebrated their 11th wedding anniversary this week, said his brother and neighbouring farmer Arno Potgieter of Van Tondersrust farm. “It’s so unreal. a bitter, bitter shock.’
The family were alone at home at the time of the massacre: a plate of food was still inside the microwave oven, waiting to be eaten. Volksblad newspaper reporters that at the time they visited the farm, his body was still there: covered up by a sheet.
It has been reported by reliable sources that farm workers were paid R500 each for information about the family’s movements before the armed men arrived to kill them. Mrs Potgieter was the assistant branch-manager of the East Freestate-Cape Agricultural company’s Arlington branch. Mr Potgieter was a caretaker-farmer on behalf of its owner Alex MaCaskill, who lives at Marquard and farms on a neighbouring farm with livestock.
Col Sam Makhele of the SAPS provincial department said the majority of the six arrested suspects – they are still seeking another one – are males in their twenties. They confiscated a blood-spattered 9mm handgun in a squatter hut near Lindley, and another firearm was found at the crime scene. Bloodied credit cards belonging to the Potgieters also were located during the arrests.
Pro-ANC agri-union says it’s “just an ordinary crime… not the ANC’s fault…”
Volksblad journalist Charles Smith quotes a deeply angered André Botha, security chairman of the pro-ANC Agri-SA union, as saying that ‘South Africa should be ashamed for those people in its population who would murder a three-year-old child and her parents. “The child was no threat to them. You can only make one concluion: it’s a sick society, a sick community and its sick people who can this. Those men ‘went to the most extreme measures when they could have just robbed the Potgieters,’ he fumed. “It says something about our society. There’s a lack of morality and a lack of respect for human lives.’
- He asked: “Why is the government so silent? What chance of survival did a woman and a child have against six men? And then to ambush the husband and murder him too, is barbaric.’ Nevertheless, he hastened to add, “the murders aren’t the fault of the ruling ANC but merely a cowardly criminal act...’
Less politically-correct organisations such as the Afrikaans civil-rights movement Afriforum sharply criticised the government and the massacre of the Potgieter family - pointing out that these are the direct result of the ANC’s genocidal hatespeech slogans such as “Shoot the Boer ( dubul’ ibhunu ) and “Kill the Boer’. On Monday, the Pro-Afrikaans Action group protested outside the Johannesburg High Court against the ANC’s application to have their socalled ‘struggle song” dubulÃ’bhunu unbanned.

Antonella del Fabbro, (2) shot at while asleep between parents: Mooiplaats smallholding Nov 25 2010:As only became known several days later, two-year-old Antonella Del Fabbro was also attacked at a Mooiplaats smallholding while she was asleep between her parents.
Armed attackers had fired at the sleeping family from outside their homestead and the parents were injured. When the first bullet hit dad Marco, 35, he grabbed the toddler girl from the bed and hid her in the hallway, telling her to stay put. He then returned to the bedroom while the shots were still being fired to help his wife Monya, 37. As he pulled her off the bed she was shot in a foot while he was shot another three times.
Eight spent bullet-cartridges were later found outside the bedroom window.
Del Fabbro told Beeld that they had just fallen asleep when they heard sounds at the window and the shooting started - just like that, from the outside.
"It is ludicrous to wake up because you are being shot at,' he said. When I realised we were under fire I grabbed the little one and put her in the hallway. As I grabbed my wife and pushed her into the hallway too, my wife was shot in the foot and I was shot in the back. By that time they had already fired bullets into my hip.” Their twelve-year-old daughter Anya woke up from the shots in her bedroom. Four armed black men then climbed through the couple's shattered bedroom window and ordered Del Fabbro at gunpoint to stand up and lie on the bed to be 'tied up'. He said he couldn't walk because bullets were fired into his legs and thigh. Another black man then walked into Anya's room where the two girls were cowering, pointed a gun at their mother and ordered her back to the main bedroom. The two girls were left behind weeping and terrified, alone in the room while the gang plundered the main bedroom and fled. Afrikaner security-technician Riaan Petrus Velloen, 37, killed by SAPS in custody, Florida police cells, Roodepoort S.Africa – nobody charged
2010-11-29 Amanda Roestoff reports that 37-year-old Afrikaner security-cameras technician Riaan Petrus Velloen was beaten up so brutally by the Florida police in Roodepoort that he died in the police cells. There were no charges against Velloen when he died in police custody, said his mother-in-law Mrs Ria Hogan, 50, the grand-mother of his son Kevin Hogan, 15. “Police claim he was drunk but he was not a drinker. We don’t know why he was arrested and there have been no formal charges lodged through the charge office,’ she said. She said her daughter received a phone call from Riaan’s sister – who informed him that he was beaten to death in the police cells. SAPS spokesman Lt.col. Lungelo Dlamini confirmed that he has died while in police-custody and that a ‘murder-dossier was opened to investigate ‘the incident’. Hogan said the family have no idea where he was arrested, or why. “It’s so heart-sore, because he was a kind, loving man who always tried to make you happy even if he had to put his own needs last. The police should be there to protect people – one cannot trust them any longer.’ His son Kevin was devastated about his father’s death. “He always listened to everything I ever told him and I will miss all the special things we did together. Velloen’s remains have not yet been released for burial because the investigation has not been completed. The SAPS ‘would not say whether any of the arresting officers would be criminally charged or prosecuted in an internal hearing…’
This year thus far 566 people have died in SAPS custody from Jan to Nov 30 2010.
Throughout the entire apartheid-era up to 75 people died in police-custody throughout the period between 1963 and 1994.

The TV programme Third Degree, broadcast by ETV in South Africa, showed these pictures of the late Mr James Brown, a 09-year-old Afrikaner and also an Alzheimer’s sufferer, who was arrested at the Shoprite supermarket in Kriel – for ‘taking a chocolate bar without paying for it’. Ryan writes: “The old man was assaulted, beaten and sprayed with pepper spray by the police officers who arrested him without any probable course for their behavior towards him – the old man did not resist arrest and the police officers were never in any danger from him at any stage. This old man did not know he was doing anything wrong because he was an Alzheimer’s sufferer – his doctor said his physical health was good, but he did suffer from Alzheimer. “After his arrest, his civil rights were also violated because he had nobody to assist him and his right to a phone call was not presented to him otherwise he could have been assisted by a family member or attorney. “He died within four hours of custody at the Kriel police station. This is what he looked like after four hours in a police cell - alone . "South Africa is in the crucible of violence, with daily clamors for help from individuals across the country, especially white minorities now a target of violence, the rest of the world has ignored. On the pages for the United States Department of State, the list of countries underlined by America as having problems in human rights is lengthy. These pages do not, however, include South Africa.
Perhaps this is an example of being politically correct on racial matters, since to respond to the issue of black on white violence may have repercussions to the major power's messages on human rights as being specific to minorities of color as opposed to white groups.
"The United Nations and international human rights organizations make declarations frequently about human rights problems in Somalia, Kenya, Nigeria and other African countries on matters related involving everything from child trafficking to drug abuse. Again the criminal violations against white groups in South Africa are conspicuous by that absence.
"A short entry on Facebook today by a white South African journalist brings a plaintive statement of his not being able to tolerate the problems anymore.

Outspoken Afrikaans author fired as columnist for saying she "didn't like blacks because of the violence":
Annelie Botes, author of award-winning books such as Thula-thula and Puzzle-Child (about autism), willl no longer publish her column in the Afrikaans daily Die Burger 's East-Cape edition said its (non-white) editor Zelda Jongbloed. "We fired her'. She was quoted in the Rapport Sunday paper yesterday as saying that ‘she didn’t like black people because of the violence (against her own people). I am terrified of them.’
