‘Daddy, the crooks have shot dead our mommy’:
--  said the 5-yr-old son of murdered Afrikaans farm-wife Venessa Stafleu, 34 – after he had walked 2km on a dark farm road with his 3-yr-old little sister to find help at his grandmother’s house:

This is a horrifically painful interview to watch: the father clearly was still totally traumatised.The video must be watched to the end: he explains for instance that the children had great courage: his five-year-old son knew that he had to go and seek help after he SAW his mom being shot by black men. The boy took his little sister and the two of them walked for TWO KILOMETERS on that farm road, falling down occassionally, but he kept going, wanting to walk to his grandmother's homestead. He knew the way and was determined. This is an astonishing feat for a five year old: he was terrified after what he'd seen but he also knew what to do. And he knew the killers might still be out there butthis gutsy little boy persevered. Please note: the husband said that his wife had a blackened eye, that she was killed with a headshot while kneeling in front of her murderers, and that she had not been raped. Also: nothing was robbed. The children told the father that the killers were black men, one wore a balaclava."

DAIRY FARMERS COULD SOON BE EXTINCT IN SOUTH AFRICA: HIGH MURDER RATE:
With less than 2,600 commercial dairy farmers left in South Africa (from the original 7,000 in 1997) - the death-toll amongst this very small community has also risen: moreover the ferocity with which they are killed; together with the fact that very often nothing is robbed; indicates that more powerful motives other than ‘greed’ are at play: Just some of the latest examples are listed below:
