SAPS cannot tell ‘bogus cops’ from real ones - journalist
Chaos reigns in the SA Police Service – which reportedly has trouble identifying 'bogus-police' criminals from real police officers:
Feb 14 2012 -- Bedfordview journalist Dylan Slater noted this month that the SA Police Service has trouble identifying ‘bogus’ criminals from real police officers; that spokespeople were publishing contradictory statements. Slater thus is unclear on whether two men arrested as ‘bogus cops’ earlier this month, were actually ‘real SAPS members’ or not… because the police also do not seem able to tell…
Unsurprisingly, ‘bogus’ police syndicates are doing a roaring trade, two Bedfordview journalists including Slater, found in their in-depth investigation.
Slater wrote on 3 Feb 2012 that initially, he was told by SAPS constable Sharon Mahamba of the Sebenza police station that:
- 'SAPS Student Constable Vill Seshweni and Warrant Officer Joseph Moabela were patrolling in Modderfontein when they noticed a person handcuffed in the back of a vehicle and two men standing outside the vehicle. There was a second vehicle on the scene. The two men told the police officers that they were members of the SAPS and were questioning the man. It was established that one man was a police officer from the SAPS Johannesburg cluster.”
Slater: "This contradicted what Lt Col Ndou told Looklocal this afternoon by Lt.Col Ndou, who said:
“It must be mentioned that none of the arrested suspects are police officers. The other suspect claimed to be a captain in the SAPS, but it was established that he has never been a member of SAPS,” then said warrant-officer Cobus Holloway, also of the Sebenza SAPS, who added:
-- “Fingerprints were lifted off both vehicles and a weapon found on the scene of the arrest. This linked both men to four other crimes which have been reported to the SAPS. The one car was reported as hijacked in Dobsonville and the other was also a hijacked vehicle traced back to a case in Pretoria,”-- then said Constable Sharon Mahamba from Sebenza SAPS: “Both licence discs on the vehicles were fraudulent…”
Two bogus? police men appear Thursday Feb 16 in Kempton Park Magistrate’s Court:
Lt Col Ndou said that the two suspects were still in custody and will appear in Kempton Park Magistrate ’s Court on Thursday February 16 for formal bail application. “The two suspects are facing charges of possession of unlicensed firearm and ammunition, possession of suspected stolen motor vehicles, impersonating a police officer and possession of police equipment,” said Lt Col Ndou.

Whites losing legal firearms
SA citizen Louis de La Porte launches formal complaint with Independent Police Directorate - demands his illegally-confiscated firearms back link
Pretoria, South Africa. PRETORIA. Louis de la Porte writes: 'Five of my Firearms were illegally seized by the South African Police due to their own administrative incompetence on the 3rd of July 2011. In an act of desperation (after all else failed) I lodged a complaint with the Independent Complaints Directorate on the 17th of October 2011 (by hand) and followed up on the 9th of November 2011 (by hand). I have yet to hear from the Interdependent Complaints Directorate even though the South African Police advocates and enforces "Zero Tolerance to Crime and the Illegal Possession of Firearms" - as being a very serious crime...
Legal, bona-fide white arms dealers, registered gun-smiths and white, legal owners of registered self-defence guns are being arrested on ‘illegal arms-cache’ charges – while the ANC-regime ignores tens of thousands of criminal gangs’ AK47s and can’t seem to find back their stolen SAPS- and SADF-weapons... Instead the regime is cracking down on the legal firearms owned by the white victims of unprecendented gang-warfare…

2011-01-22 Carryn-Ann Nel, Die Burger, BELLVILLE magistrate’s court: Eyes brimming with tears and in obvious agony, 59-year-old old retired police officer, legal, registered gun-smith Herbert Johnson, was forced to get up out of his hospital bed in the Panorama Mediclinic where he’d undergone surgery on his back just a day earlier. The state ordered him dragged him into court with claims that he possessed massive quantities of “illegal’ firearms. Among the more ridiculous items shown by the triumphant police chief Cele at an SABC-News conference on January 16 2011 while displaying this ‘massive arms cache’ was a display of totally useless, plastic-cast guns, realistic looking but only used as toys or to advertise such products with… The house/business of the legal gunsmith was searched while he was in hospital undergoing surgery.
Johnson was helped into the court-room by a friend, Gerald Bailey, who said Mr Johnson was unable to walk without being in agony. The surgery wounds were still very fresh. Before the case started, he moreover had been forced by the police to climb down and up 40 steps just to have his finger-prints taken. “When he got downstairs he fell down on the floor, groaning with pain,’ said Bailey. “I made him let him stretched out on the floor to stabilise his back. He was in so much pain… indeed, the clerk could easily have taken his fingerprints upstairs. I don’t understand why he had to personally appear in court when he’s in so much pain: his surgeon had warned him that he had to remain in bed for a month to recover fully after his surgery yesterday.’
His lawyer Ed Booth already had prepared a sworn statement-- y which was intended to explain his ‘absence in court’. In the statement, Mr Johnson ‘took note’ of the charges against him, but also said he contested these charges and that will for now, exercise his right to remain silence. In his bail-application submission, Booth said his client had ‘provided his fullest cooperation to the police”. His doctor wrote me that Mr Johnson was unable to appear in court for a month - so that he can fully recover from the surgery to his back. Mr Booth submitted that Mr Johnson did not pose a danger to society nor any flight-risk: “He has 29 years of experience as a police officer, and received several medals including for bravery during his work. He now works as an independent businessman who runs his legal gun-smith business from his home in Durbanville. He is a qualified and fully-licensed gun-smith.’ During the procedings Johnson asked the court if he would be allowed to stretch his back by standing up, the journalist noted. Linden was granted a mere R3,000 ($300) bail and the case was postponed to 30 March. http://www.dieburger.com/Suid-Afrika/Nuus/Man-met-erge-rugpyn-kry-swaar-in-hof-20110121
